Or should that be stellar? Judging from his works spanning a 50 year career - and still going strong - he certainly is a big star in American, as well as global art. I was quite happy to see that Stella was recently exhibited in London (by the intriguingly named Haunch of Venison) - and sad that I had missed it. To be honest, I hadn't even heard of Frank Stella then.
I really like Stella. There's something quite uplifting about viewing his works. One thing for certain, there is more to minimalist work than Donald Judd.
